Inspiration From New Faces and Veteran Game Jammers

Inspiration From New Faces and Veteran Game Jammers

Hi everyone,

I hope the month has been going well for you so far. Many of you attended Casual Connect and competed at Indie Prize, others have launched Kickstarter campaigns, and some are greenlit on Steam!

To the new developers, it has been refreshing getting to know you and how you came into game development. Thank you for sharing your stories with us and participating in the game jams!

"We begin Progressive Game Jam 3.1 with a whole new onslaught of inspiration from new faces & veteran game jammers ready to learn, ready to shine within our Sacramento community! I couldn't be more proud of the drive I continue to witness from within us all."

In addition to our August events, we want to make sure future educational sessions meet all levels of learning and are accommodating to everyone’s schedules regardless of location. Please help us by taking this survey.

***Special Announcements***

Ninja Pandas are looking for a new artist to join their team. Keep an eye out for a follow up email with all the contest details!

Do you play games? Great! Do you want to help kids at the UC Davis Children's Hospital simply by playing games? Awesome! Consider joining our Extra Life team! http://www.extra-life.org/team/SacIndieArcade

Our goal is to provide quality events that will help each of you thrive. Although there is no cost to be a part of our Meetup group (EVER!), there are benefits for professionals and students to become members of IGDA. Read more here: https://www.igda.org/?page=benefits. Did you know a portion of member dues are invested back to local chapters? Should you choose to become an official IGDA member, this will help us continue to host quality and diverse game development events.

As always, we want to know what YOU want to see in an upcoming IGDA Sacramento event! Let us know which past sessions you've liked, what you didn’t, what you want to learn and what events you’d like to see happen!
